FBI: Battle lines drawn in local elections

Battle lines were drawn for the May 9 local school board and city council elections as the deadline for filing ended on Monday.

In Fort Bend ISD, incumbent President Sonal Bhuchar has drawn an opponent.

For the Position 2 trustee seat, Carlos M. Cain, a resident of Stratford Park Village on FM 1464 has filed. He is described as a self employed, consultant.

For the Position 6 seat on the west side of the district, being vacated by Steve Smelley, three have filed.

They are Bruce Albright, a sales manager from Plantation Bend in Sugar Land, Marilyn S. Glover, consultant from Missouri City and Rodrigo Carreon, an electrician from Fresno.

While Carreon has previously run for the school board unsuccessfully, Glover has been a political activist.

She ran for the Fort Bend County Treasurer a few years ago.

In Missouri City, for District A Rodney Griffin and Bobby Marshall have filed. Incumbent Eunice Reiter is not seeking re-election.

In District B, Cynthia Lenton-Gary, who is seeking a second term, is unopposed.
